Even a book as small in page number as Button brings to light the help of many who have encouraged the author to proceed, persevere and finish the project. I would like to acknowledge the help given by my children. Jeff, Jackie, Zachary and Jason were supportive from the beginning and I hope the generation of my granddaughter Dani will appreciate the end product.
All the way, critical eyes and view points were invaluable. From friends like Chet and Diane who read rough drafts and kept me on the correct path. Co-workers like Bobi and Jon spent a good deal of time with me regarding graphics and design. Dr. Saylor is and has always been an inspiration. She is smart, astute, and didn't mind telling me a thing or two when the copy-edit process was underway. Also, Christopher and the folks at PPC Books have made my first venture into the book world an almost seamless one.
Much of the purpose for writing Button is to raise money for various animal shelters. In today's economic world, money for food and care of all animals housed at an animal shelter is hard to come by. My hope is that in some small way, Button will help. A percent of profits from the book sales will be directed to the shelters.
I took a lot of reference for Button from my own little cat. Kinky is her name and she is small, energetic, loving and arrogant. One should expect nothing less from a cat, by the way.
Just as you should hug your family each and every day, a hug for your pet won't hurt either.
Overall, my first book writing experience has been personally rewarding. Few roadlbocks emerged during the entire process. Next up will be an illustrated Children's book. I will feel confident in that project if all of the people I mentioned above are still interested in offering their advice and help.

I put down my book, The Meaning of Zen, and see the cat smiling into her fur as she delicately combs it with her rough tongue."Cat, I would lend you this book to study but it appears you have already read it."She looks up and gives me her full gaze. "Don't be ridiculous, she purrs, I wrote it".

This book is dedicated to all the beautiful animals of the world who never find a peaceful and loving home. Special recognition to Animal Shelter volunteers everywhere.
One of the most interesting websites related to new published books is...... www.thealternativebookshop.com. Thousands of fiction and non-fiction books are listed on this website. And of course all are for sale. I am pleased to tell you that Button A Forever friend spent several months as the BOOK OF THE MONTH. A rare feat indeed. WOW!! Our little girl more than held her own with much larger books. Check it out!
